Day 01 : Pick up at airport and drive to hotel in Negombo.

This day can be spent relaxing on the beach or discovering the area.

Day 02 : Visit Elephant Orphanage and Temple in Dambulla

The Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage established in 1975 as place for shelter and care the wounded elephants and abandoned baby elephants found in jungle. It is currently home to a herd of over 90 elephants. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is the best place for an up close and personal experience with the world’s largest land mammals! Today, Pinnawala has become the home to the largest captive group of elephants in the world

The Dambulla temple has five caves and 157 statues of the Lord Buddha, many paintings on the ceilings and walls that emphasis the artistic talent of ancient days. The fascination of these caves is not only the statues but also the many intricate and delicate paintings that cover the ceiling and walls, created with indigenous traditional paints.

Day 03 : Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa

Our next destination is the great rock fortress of Sigiriya, one of the most famous attractions in Sri Lanka. The rock fortress regarded as the eighth wonder of the ancient world, was built by king Kassapa in the 5th century A.D and was royal citadel for more than one year. It is a complex of buildings, part-royal palace, and part fortified town, and water gardens on par with the best in the ancient world, constitute a magnificent and unique architectural feat of the ancient Sinhalese. Sigiriya was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1982.

The ancient city of Polonnaruwa became the second capital of what we now know as Sri Lanka after the Cholas had plundered the former capital of Anuradhapura and took hold in Polonnaruwa. Turbulent times followed until King Parakramabahu conquered the city, as well as the rest of the island.

 

Day 04 : Kandy to Matale

Drive to Kandy, on the way visit Spice Garden in Matale. After a tour around Kandy you will see a performance of traditional dances in the evening followed by a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Visit a spice garden in Matale to see many different types of spices Sri Lanka is famous for. Just 25 km from the hill capital of Kandy, the Matale spice gardens are among the best on the island. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed.

Kandy is Sri Lankas second city and undisputed cultural capital of the island, home to the Temple of the Tooth, the countrys most important religious shrine, and the Esala Perahera, its most exuberant festival.

Day 05 : Visit Botanical Gardens and Tea Factory

Then you will be visiting the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. Enjoy the over 4,000 species of plants that are on display in these gardens which were once exclusively reserved for use by Kandyan Royalty.

Nuwara Eliya is better known as Little England of Sri Lanka. The climate, surroundings, and architecture of this area are different than other villages. Due to its cooler climate, it is the most important area for tea production in Sri Lanka. Exploring tea plantations is not the only thing to do in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 06 : Drive to Hikkaduwa or Beruwala and stay in hotel there, visit waterfalls on the way.

Hikkaduwa is a small coastal town approximately 100km south of Colombo. The best time of year to visit Hikkaduwa Beach is between November and March for the hot summer rays and good surf. Although this is the peak season for tourists, the prices for accommodation and food are very reasonable.

The town of Beruwala is located at the Kalutara District in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. Beruwala has everything from the tropical weather with perfect holiday spots to seaside resorts and attractive beaches. Apart from these attractions, Beruwala is famous for Ayurvedic treatments as almost all the hotels provide special herbal messages and stream baths.
